Socceroo enjoying life in Town!

Australia International who hopes to be with the Socceroos at this summer's World Cup in South Africa 29-year old Dean Heffernen is not only enjoying life in Huddersfield, and is now joined by his Australian girlfriend in the town, but he is also intent on showing the form in the remaining matches in the season to propel the Terriers to promotion.

Heffernan nickname 'Sonic' for his pace, had what may regard his best match in his 10 since joining from the A-League at Leyton Orient last Saturday which helped Town to an impressive 2-0 victory, and Heffernan is looking to apply that form this afternoon when Charlton Athletic visit.

By his own standards Heffernan believes he was poor in his last Galpharm outing which saw the club fall to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of run away leaders Norwich City. He was at fault to the build up to one of the City goals on that afternoon and he has said he was given a blasting from manager Lee Clark.

Heffernan has made 10 appearances for Town but was unceremoniously replaced at half time of the 5-0 drubbing at Southampton and missed the next match at Gillingham.

Heffernan who is adjusting to the power and pace of the English Football League which is a massive difference than the Australian blue ribbon event where the Sydney born left back played for the Central Coast Mariners in Queensland and has two International caps to his name. His display last Saturday was viewed by the Socceroos head coach and would have done his World Cup ambitions a lot of good.

Heffernan paid tribute to the loyal and supportive Town supporters and he has said he was delighted to see them smile following the terrific performance and victory at Leyton Orient last Saturday.

Loan window closes

The Football League Loan Window closed on Thursday evening at 17:00 GMT with no new arrivals or exits from the Galpharm Stadium. Lee Clark has stated that he was thwarted in his attempts to sign a striker with at least two wanted loan signings not arriving.

With Lee Novak and Robbie Simpson injured, Town will rely on 19-goal striker Jordan Rhodes and Theo Robinson to lead the attack in the remaining weeks of the season as the Terriers attempt to forge their way back into the play-off positions.

Rhodes is one away from 20 goals, which should the former Ipswich and Barnsley man should achieve that marker would make him the first Terrier since Pawel Abbott during the 2004/2005 season to score 20 goals in a single season.

Not bad considering it is Rhodes first season at Town.

Season Ticket Prices REVEALED

This morning the club have revealed details of the season ticket prices for next season's inaugural npower League 2010/2011.

For next season the club will be moving back to category match day ticket prices and these prices will only be revealed once the fixture list is confirmed. Season ticket holders will also have an option of taking a seat in The Pink Link Stand on a number of occasions next season, dependant on the fixture. The club has said they will issue more details on release of the football fixtures.

Plus if you complete your email address on your application form, you will gain the chance to win back a full refund on your season ticket price.

Chairman-Elect who will become Chairman from next season Dean Hoyle has put down the marker for Town fans. "You buy your season ticket, we will buy the players". Hoyle wants everyone connected with Huddersfield Town to join next season despite the obvious increase on the special Centenary Offer last season. "Join us and be part of the new era" is another catchphrase the club is using.

Hoyle is embracing a new culture, a new era, a new start and we are now "on the journey" and being 'on the journey' means 'together ... forever!' Hoyle is desperate, as a fan, as Chairman to turn the potential of Huddersfield Town into reality. Town are just at the beginning of a journey, but nonetheless Town are "on the journey" and it promises under an ambitious Chairman to be an exciting and prosperous one.

Dean Hoyle, wants the town and the supporters to back their football club, it is at the end of the day the supporters that make the difference. Hoyle is striving to once again make a real difference to Huddersfield Town AFC and to make "Huddersfield, the best team in the land". So buy your season ticket and join HTAFC and Dean Hoyle on the journey and be part of that journey through your support.

"Together, Forever".

Brentford (Away) | League One | Saturday April 10 2010 (15:00 k/o)

Tickets are on sale for the Griffin Park fixture as Town look to continue their play-off hopes with victory in London during a busy month of April. You have the option of seating or standing.

Admission into Brentford is:

Seating
Adults: £21
Over 60s: £15
Full Time Students: £13 - with valid Identification
Under 16s: £5

Admission into Brentford is:

Standing
Adults: £20
Over 60s: £14
Full Time Students: £12 - with valid Identification
Under 16s: £5

The 12,763 Griffin Park as been the scene of many an important battle between Huddersfield and Brentford having won once and lost once here in the play-offs. Few will forget the scenes following Darren Bullock's winning 1995 play-off semi final goal in front of the new covered Ealing Road Terrace. That goal took the Terriers to Wembley and ultimately promotion to the second tier of English Football.

Away supporters are still accommodated behind the goal in the Brook Road Stand. This two tier stand can hold around 1,600 away supporters. 600 in the seated upper tier and another 1,000 in the lower standing area. It is actually a move back to this stand following the redevelopment of the Ealing Road Terrace in 2007 as that was the designated away area for some time. The stand is rather compact like Griffin Park in general and any Town fan who has visited Griffin Park will be very aware of this.

Home to Brentford since 1904 it is the only English league ground to have a pub on each corner and is situated on land that once housed a Fuller's Brewery. All the stands are separate and the stadium compact it does have a friendly and welcoming appeal to it. It is affectionately called "Wendy House" by the locals and is used by Premiership side Chelsea for their reserve fixtures. For four years until 2006 it was also home of Super League side London Broncos.

Like many clubs in England in Brentford's position there are plans to move to a new 20,000 all seater capacity stadium situated in a 7.6 acre site close to their current stadium.

The Stadium is a 25 minute walk from South Ealing Tube Station (or a bus ride on the number 65), and 1.3 miles from Gunnersbury. Brentford train station is around a 5 minute walk to the ground.

Season Ticket Saver Prices out tomorrow

Keep an eye out for the early bird Season Ticket offer set to be released by the club this Thursday. Offering both a great value for money package to the support whilst ensuring the club remains financially viable.

"On the journey" with Huddersfield Town - will you be part of that journey in 2010/2011?

Chairman Dean Hoyle who has been bank rolling the club since joining the board and becoming major shareholder in April 2008 has said that the prices will reflect the running costs of the club. Hoyle has said that the prices will reflect both the current economical climate plus the balancing act of making the club financially viable.

11,000 season tickets were purchased last season, the Centenary Season offer the season before even great numbers due to season tickets priced for adults from £100. Hoyle reflecting on the need to balance all criteria in setting the prices as said it is "not easy".

Hoyle has also said that the price of season tickets must reflect the entertainment on offer, compare to comparable rivals, the league played in and the costs in running the club. Last season the club made an operating loss of £4 million, in the long term that kind of loss is unsustainable.

Tomorrow the club will release details of the "Season Ticket Saver" price which will be available for current holders and for a short period of time (March 22nd April 12th). The renewal price after this will be revealed on what is been called 'Huddersfield Town Day' (April 12th) and will be contained within the renewal brochure.

Those renewable prices will be available until May 7 when the club when review them based on the end of season effect. Further prices will be announced from May 7th and these will be communicated at a later date. 2010/2011 Match Day prices will be announced following the nPower League fixture released in June 2010.

Continuing on the official htafc.com website Hoyle said "I am prepared to do what it takes (to make Huddersfield Town a success) but I cannot do it alone. This club needs your support. I need your support."

So will you be joining Dean Hoyle on the journey to making Huddersfield Town great again? Be part of the journey purchase your 2010/2011 season ticket!

The club does have plans to develop further, however Orient are interested in moving to the 2012 Olympic Stadium in Stratford, East London following the conclusion of the games, but that move could be well on hold depending on what the Olympic Committee wants to do with the stadium following the ending of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The Stadium is located approximately 12 miles from Junction 27 of the M25 and a 5 minute walk from Leyton Tube Station.

Football League Annual Awards this Sunday!

Last month Huddersfield Town were shortlisted in five categories in the Football League Awards 2010 sponsored by football magazine FourFourTwo and to be hosted at a gala dinners award in London's Grosvenor House Hotel this Sunday (March 14th).

The club who also have been awarded a "Family Excellence Award" for 2010 one of 37 clubs and just one of 17 of the 72 clubs in the Football League to receive the award every year since its inception in 2007 won League One Family Club of the year in 2008 and a 2008/2009 "Family Excellence Award".

A club that is on the journey to improving both on and off the field, and Dean Hoyle and a very able board and office staff leading the new era, the new Huddersfield Town, indeed it's rebirth is ensuring that off the field Town are striving for perfection in everything they do.

For the 2010 FourFourTwo Awards Town will feature for the Family Club of the Year (League 1). In the same category is MK Dons, Norwich City, Southend United and Swindon Town. Town's innovative marketing campaign that see's half money going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and half to the club's Academy "Keep It Up" is up for the Football League's Best Marketing Campaign.

Give Us An H which recently received glowing reports from a national newspaper is shortlisted for the Best Matchday Programme, one of only two club's from League One to be up for this award. The Sports Participation Project (Huddersfield Town Cheerleaders) is included in the shortlist for the Best Community Project.

And finally living legend Andy Booth is one of four players to be shortlisted for the award of Player in the Community. Evidence of the great work the popular striker is doing off the field with the club and how successful bringing Booth from wearing the blue and white kit, to wearing the blue and white tie as proven to be.

It is a different Huddersfield Town from 10 years ago, indeed 12 months ago. Much of that is down to Dean Hoyle's beautiful and passionate vision and desire he has to see HIS club succeed. Long may that continue, and long may the supporters of this proud football club support it through thick and thin, as in Dean Hoyle, there is a Chairman an owner who feels every kick, every tackle, every minute of every game, delights with every goal and every win and feels the tension of every moment. He is a true supporter of Huddersfield Town Football Club and these awards say one thing to Dean and the staff off the field ... you are taking OUR club in the right direction.

"On the journey with Huddersfield Town ... together forever". Lets remain energised and take the passion for the very top of the boardroom throughout every occupied seat at the Galpharm Stadium every match from now until the end of the season and back Lee Clark and his playing staff until you have no voice left!

This is the beginning of a long journey Dean has planned for the club, the beginning of the realisation of the dream of taking Town to the very top level of English football again. Share this dream with Town, Keep The Faith and back them all the way be proud and honoured to "Believe in Blue & White".

Huddersfield Town v Norwich City

Follow our live Tweets - bringing you the latest score and goals as they go in!

Lee Clark will be hoping to preserve the Terriers unbeaten League form at the Galpharm Stadium when they entertain League Leaders Norwich City on Saturday afternoon (15:00). Clark will be hoping to get the Terriers back into the habit of wining points having lost their last two league matches.

The away defeats at Southampton and Gillingham, have resulted in Town slipping out of the top six and are two points behind sixth placed Swindon Town. The Robins also have a game in hand over Town. Town who have not lost at home in the league all season have drawn their last four home matches.

The unbeaten record will be severely tested by a Canaries outfit that not only play exciting football they also attack at will and with purpose and have goals throughout their team. That is why the Paul Lambert-led Norwich are the division's top sacorers and will be confident of ending the last remaining Football League unbeaten home record when they visit the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday.

Norwich City who are four points clear at the top and looking to bounce straight back to the Championship having suffered relegation last season have fallen somewhat from grace over the past few season's having once graced the upper echelons of the English Premier League and were once contenders in Europe.

Former Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark was Assistant boss at Carrow Road before taking up the management hot-seat vacated by Stan Ternent at Huddersfield in December 2008. During his tenure the Terriers have played some attractive football but a couple of blips could cost Town at the end of season shake-up if they do not find the winning mentality and change an increasing number of home ties into victories.

Starting with Saturday would be good!

A big crowd is expected at the Galpharm Stadium for what is one of the matches of the season, with two sides that like to play good attacking flair football and have scored plenty of goals between them. The Yellow Army will travel in numbers to support Lambert's side, indeed Norwich announced that they have already sold 18,500 season tickets for next season. By any dimension of the word that is phenomenal.

Norwich are on a remarkable run just now with 12 wins from their last 14 league matches. They have won their last three league matches and the last two on the road. But Town Chairman Dean Hoyle wants the Terriers fans to turn up in their numbers on Saturday and give Clark's side "vociferous backing", lets just hope the Galpharm stewards don't spoil the atmosphere like they have done too many times this season.

Historical results between Huddersfield Town and Norwich City are as intriguing as Saturday's match with 38 matches played in total. Both sides have won 11 times with 16 draws. Norwich have outscored Town by 11 goals with their 50. On HD1 soil the visitors have won just three times to Town's five and 10 draws. Town's 20 goals is three more than City's.

Last time out the Terriers lost 3-0 at Carrow Road in December. After which Town went on a unbeaten league run of 11 matches, ended by the disappointing 5-0 loss at Southampton earlier this month compounded by the indifferent 2-0 loss at Gillingham last time out. However, influential right back and former City trialist Lee Peltier was missing for both of those defeats and it is hoped he will return on Saturday. Due to his red card at Priestfield Nathan Eccleston will be missing for the match.

Last match between the sides in Huddersfield ended with a 2-0 victory to Town. The last Norwich win in Huddersfield was in December 1997 when they secured a 3-1 victory. That was the first of a double as they followed that up with a crushing 5-0 victory at Carrow Road in April 1998 - in what is now the Championship.

The last two fixtures played in Yorkshire have resulted in a clean sheet for the Terriers. The 2-0 victory in March 2001 and a 1-0 win in September 1999.

There have been two cup ties between the Terriers and the Canaries. The first a 1-0 victory for Town in the League Cup (October 1967) and Norwich won a FA Cup Third Round Reply at Leeds Road in January 1987 4-2 after a 1-1 tie at Norwich.

As part of the "Football for Heroes" initiative by the Football League, this fixture will be another "Help For Heroes" match, so come and support the Terriers and show your support for the British Armed Forces.

For more information on the Help For Heroes Charity click here.

This fixture is classified a category A match. It promises to be a big crowd and a great match so what is stopping you from coming down to one of the most visually inspiring and aesthetically pleasing football stadia in Europe, the Galpharm Stadium, the home of Huddersfield Town.

Terriers reserves go joint top!

Paul Stephenson's side today completed a West Yorkshire derby double over Bradford City. They followed up the 3-2 victory at Valley Parade in September with a 3-1 victory over City at AFC Emley's Welfare Ground.

Goals from Theo Robinson and Jimmy Spencer (2) gave Town the three points to go joint level with Leeds United at the top of the totesport.com League East Division.

Popular striker Theo Robinson got the victory on the way with a goal on 36 minutes then two inside three second half minutes (62 and 65) from Academy striker Spencer whose profited from spending time out on loan this season. Bradford managed to get a late equaliser but it was not enough to threaten a fight back.

It's the sixth consecutive victory for Stephenson's side who last week saw a young side defeat Leeds 3-1 at the Galpharm Stadium. The reserves also won the February performance of the month with the 6-0 hammering of Rotherham United.

For Bradford it was the first time Junior Lewis had taken the reigns of the Bantams reserves and included a number of first team players as Peter Taylor the new Bradford manager used the second string fixture to assess some of his first team talent.

It will be a shame for Simon Eastwood that he narrowly failed to retain a clean sheet against City - a side he spent around 6 months on loan with this season. Town included a number of players with first team experience, and Nathan Clarke, James Berrett and Theo Robinson were all replaced on 70 minutes, likely to get them match fit for Saturday's League One fixture against Norwich City.

The visitors finished the match with 10 men after former Terrier Chris Brandon was forced off through injury and City had made all three of their substitutions.

Lee Clark Manager of the Month!

Lee Clark has been awarded the League One Manager of the Month Award for February 2010.

During a busy month of February Huddersfield Town went unbeaten in the seven League matches, with three wins and the excellent run for Town maintained their push for a play-off place. Town also held promotion rivals Leeds and Swindon at home to preserve the unbeaten Galpharm Stadium record.

Lee Clark is the first Town manager to win the Coca-Cola Manager award twice in a single season winning it back in November 2009. The only other manager to win the award is Peter Jackson.

The Coca-Cola Manager of the Month awards were introduced in August 2005 - Peter Jackson winning the League award in the opening month of them. Jackson won two other manager of the month awards in January 2004 and March 2004.

Up against Clark was up against Kenny Jackett, Danny Wilson and Aidy Boothroyd. He joins Norwich City manager Paul Lambert in winning the League One award on two occasions this season.

Town started with three draws (home against Carlisle, away at Brighton, home against Swindon). They then secured three consecutive away victories (Carlisle, Hartlepool and Tranmere) and finished with that home tie with West Yorkshire rivals Leeds last weekend.

In recognition of the Football League nominating the "Help The Heroes" as their official charity, Huddersfield Town will be honouring the Forces by designating next Saturday's home match with Norwich City the "Help For Heroes" fixture.

Between March 6th and March 14th The Football League has asked League clubs to designate a match to their chosen Charity. The Terriers match in November against Wycombe Wanderers was designated a Forces Match by Huddersfield Town and will also honour the Forces for the 'official' match.

During the match on November 14th which was also televised live on SKY TV which Town won 6-0 we captured some video footage of the Help For Heroes events.

Brisbane Road or as it is now known Matchroom Stadium has like many of English football stadia enjoyed a degree of change and re-development over the recent years. The ground as enjoyed three newly built stands with the corners populated by residential apartments!

Town supporters will be accommodated in the South End of the Main Stand (East Stand) with a visiting capacity of around 1,400. The Stadium itself boasts a capacity of 9,271 (all seater). The East Stand is the only stand at Brisbane Road not to have been recently redeveloped. It was opened in 1956. The Stadium is located approximately 12 miles from Junction 27 of the M25 and a 5 minute walk from Leyton Tube Station.

The Young Terriers on Wednesday evening (Galpharm Stadium) completed a derby double over Leeds United in the totesport.com League with a dominant 3-1 victory to add to the recent 2-0 win at Elland Road.

Goals from Aiden Chippendale (2) and Stephen Powell saw Paul Stephenson's young side defeat an experienced side from Leeds.

Chippendale scored the first of his brace on 9 minutes and added the second on 58. The visitors pulled a goal back on 73 minutes, but Chippendale's second on 90 minutes ensured the points were staying in HD1.

Huddersfield Town @ Southampton

Follow our live Tweets - bringing you the latest score and goals as they go in!

We will be following the Terriers tomorrow afternoon and making the long journey to the Hampshire coast to see Town play Southampton. Town will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches (they have not tasted a league defeat since December 19th) and make it four away wins on the bounce. Saturday's home match was a massive test for the Terriers in which they grabbed a late equaliser in front of a nearly 22,000 fans at the Galpharm Stadium (a record league crowd for the second home of Town).

The trip to Southampton, will be no easier and perhaps is one of the toughest matches on the road in League One.

Tuesday's visit to Southampton's 'New Ground' - St Mary's (or The Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium" to give it it's full commercial title) will be Huddersfield Town's first visit (another to add to the collection Town fans!) since the Saints moved from The Dell in 2001.

Although Southampton was docked 10 points at the start of the season by The Football League they have improved as the season as progressed and are proving to be a quality team. They sit in 11th place just now, but without the points deduction they would have been just seven points behind Town and three places higher.

They are making a genuine surge for the play-off zone and a win over Town would strengthen Alan Pardew's side's aspirations of extending their season beyond on the normal fixtures. Southampton dismissed Walsall 5-1 on Saturday at St Mary's despite Walsall taking an early lead. They also have two prolific strikers in their side in Ricky Lambert and January capture Lee Barnard. They both always seem to forge well against Huddersfield Town.

Of the last 5 matches for the Saints at St Mary's they have won 3, drawn once, and lost the other. Not many Town fans will need reminding of the poor away form this season, which is really preventing the Terriers making a closer move towards the automatic places. Our last five on the road have seen 1 win, 1 draw and 3 defeats. The last away fixture at Carrow Road ended in a disappointing 3-0 loss despite a positive first period showing.

There have not been many fixtures between the two clubs with only 10 matches at Southampton in all competitions. Southampton has won 5 of these matches, Town 2 the other 3 draws. Southampton's 20 home goals is 7 more than Town have scored.

The last league match in Southampton ended in a 2-1 victory for the Terriers in September 1971. The last visit was in a League Cup match. Town had lost the first leg 1-0 at the then McAlpine Stadium, and followed that up with a 4-0 loss at The Dell, a victory inspired by Saints Legend Matthew Le Tissier.

Ironically the only ever match between Saints and Town in January (in 1965) ended with the highest aggregate scoreline of 3-3 at The Dell. So there could just be goals on Tuesday evening at the St Mary's! One thing is for sure Town fans will be treated to one of the best Stadia in League One.

But with a 462 mile round trip to make for Yorkshire based supporters on a Tuesday night (the fourth longest!), it is unlikely many will see the Terriers first ever match at Southampton's impressive new home.

Visiting supporters to St Mary's Stadium or The Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium" to give it it's full commercial title, are situated in a section of the Northam Stand next to the connection with the Itchen Stand and behind the goal - albeit more to the corner flag side of the behind the goal stand.

Up to 3,200 away supporters are accommodated in the modern 32,689 all-seater stadium, which cost £32 million to construct. It is situated in the Chapel area of the City of Southampton and not as the stadium name would suggest St Mary's.

As with most modern football arena's St Mary's is not just another football stadium, it is used for a variety of events including popular music concerts. It will also host pool games during the IRB Rugby Union World Cup in 2015 which is hosted by England. The hosting of World Cup matches could see the stadium increased in size to between 40,000 and 50,000 with the enhancement expense paid for by the Rugby Football Union.

Post Code: SO14 5FP.

Parking is limited around the stadium complex and Town fans are encouraged to make use of the Park & Ride facility that costs £5 per car and is just off junction 8 of the M27.

Gillingham (Away) | League One | Saturday March 06 2010 (15:00 k/o)

The long trips this season just seem to come and come, and following the midweek jaunt to Southampton, Town on Saturday travel to Kent to face a struggling Gillingham side at the Priestfield Stadium. Gillingham under Mark Stimson sit in 18th place in the League One table.

They are just 2 points clear of the relegation zone and having played 2 or 3 more games than some below them in the league table, they will be hoping to add to their eight victories at home already this season. At home they have secured 8 wins, 6 draws and just 3 defeats conceding just 9 goals.

It's away from home where they have lost 13 of their 17 matches on the road and with no victories. They have conceded 37 goals scoring just 11. In December Stimson's side lost 2-1 at the Galpharm Stadium. They took the lead after just 3 minutes both Town through Lee Novak (40) and Jordan Rhodes (45) sealed all three points for Lee Clark's side.

Admission into Priestfields is charged at:

Adults: £20
Seniors (over 60s): £16
16-21 year olds: £13
Under 16s: £9
Under 12s: £6

Wheelchair and ambulant disabled cost £20, with carer admitted free of charge.

The trip to the 'Garden of England' for Town fans in West Yorkshire is the fifth longest of the season. Round trip travelling to Kent will add an additional 459 miles to your vehicle's mileage. In total if you travel to all Terriers matches away from home this season you would amass 7,579 miles (round trip)!

Town fans will be housed in the uncovered Brian Moore Stand that can accommodate around 1,500 supporters. There are comments that should it rain the club hands out free rain macs to protect supporters from the elements. The Stadium itself is a compact affair and having undergone total redevelopment since the mid 1990's boasts an all seated capacity of 11,582.

The Brian Moore Stand is segregated allowing home fans to use part of this temporary area as well as visiting supporters. Town fans will be housed in the section towards the Medway Stand side of the stadium. It is set for further development this stand which is named in honour of football commentator Brian Moore a lifelong Gills fan. The club hopes to build a permanent 3,000 all seater covered stand at some point in the future.
