Easty returns to Galpharm As we reported yesterday via our Twitter Page Academy goalkeeping product Simon Eastwood has returned to Huddersfield Town from League Two side Bradford City. Eastwood was loaned to the Bantams at the start of the season and made 28 appearances for City who have struggled to find any rhythm.Despite growing in confidence as he featured in more first team matches, Eastwood could not prevent Bradford's alarming slide down the League Two table and Bantams boss Stuart McCall has decided he needs someone with more experience between the sticks at Valley Parade as his young defence continues to ship goals. The player himself had been keen to finish the season at Bradford and it is likely Town boss Lee Clark will loan Eastwood straight out when the transfer window re-opens next month. Eastwood is also understood to have taken some abuse from Bradford City supporters with him being a Town player. -

Goals: Pilkington (27) Goals: None Attendance Referee Next Match Away match at Brunton Park postponed Despite Carlisle United's continued insistence that the Boxing Day visit of Huddersfield Town would go ahead during the week up to the match on Saturday the match day official took just minutes to postpone the fixture due to an unsafe playing fixture. Many hundred's of Town fans had already arrived in Cumbria prior to the 11:20 cancellation of the fixture with many more thousands not far behind. It is felt that the referee had given the impression that this fixture could have been postponed many days prior to the match day which would have meant the Town players and team management not having to travel the long distance North on Christmas Day. Yet another appalling experience of Carlisle United FC on Boxing Day. After last season's ticketing then seat number farce this was yet another example of Carlisle United's mismanagement, disregard to the many families that support the Terriers home and away and disrespect to Huddersfield Town Football Club, Huddersfield Town supporters and the spirit of football. - Dean Hoyle becomes the only Town shareholder Chairman Dean Hoyle is now officially 100% in charge of Huddersfield Town Association Football Club having agreed on Christmas Eve to purchase the remaining shares from former Chairman Ken Davy and Chief Executive Andrew Watson. In turn Davey will become the Life President of Huddersfield Town AFC in honour of how he helped save the club during the dark days of Administration. Hoyle has also brokered a deal (which needs to be ratified by the Council) for the Football Club to obtain their rightful shareholding in the Galpharm Stadium. 40% of the Stadium will now in control of Town, transferred from Huddersfield Sporting Pride. That means when rubber stamped (more to come in the coming weeks about this) Town will own 40% of the Stadium, the Council 40% and Huddersfield Giants 20%. The Stadium shareholding has been under much angry contentious debate by many supporters since Ken Davey transferred both the Football Club and Rugby League Club's Stadium holding into the Huddersfield Supporting Pride. Davey has always maintained this was to protect the Football Club. - |

In September this year marked 40 years since Huddersfield Town adopted "Terriers" as a nickname and introduced the Yorkshire Terrier to the club crest. And in terms of partners in The Shop in came the likes of Neilson, Uggs, Viagogo, NSPCC, Jet2 Holidays, SKYBet, BlueSQ and many more. In 2009 we introduced new elements to the website, most notably the introduction of a YouTube channel and an account with the Micro-blogging website Twitter. These have enabled us to reach out to many more people and bring you up-to-date breaking news, score updates and much more, faster than ever before as we 'Tweet' from matches we attend and take short video footage. Weather permitting we will be at the games during the festive period. Carlisle United (away) (Boxing Day), MK Dons (home) (December 28) and the FA Cup Third Round tie with West Bromich Albion (January 02). Mick sends his season's greetings to all everyone connected to Town Former Terriers player Mick Fairclough has sent everyone connected to Huddersfield Town "a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year". Mick also hopes that Town can continue to keep the good form going "Things are looking good at the moment so keep it up." Best wishes to yourself Mick and your family. Mick is 'Legend' on thisisthebarmyarmy.co.uk - to visit this article click here.- Simpson back in travelling party Summer signing Robbie Simpson is drafted into Lee Clark's Huddersfield Town squad for tomorrow afternoon's visit to Norwich City following a return from injury. Simpson, Danny Drinkwater and Tom Clarke are all added to the travelling squad of 20. It is not expected either of the three players who have missed considerable time during injury will take any part in the match day 17. Simpson was once on the schoolboy books of Norwich City and only joined Town this summer from Coventry City. He has scored once at Rotherham United in the Members Trophy and it is hoped that Simpson can put behind the injury which has kept him out of action since October and offer Clark's free-scoring Terriers even more attacking options. Lee Clark will be forced into one change tomorrow afternoon through Antony Kay's suspension for his fifth booking of the season at home to Gillingham last Saturday. He is likely to be replaced by James Berrett. Lionel Ainsworth is also expected to be back on the bench this afternoon replaced by Anthony Pilkington. Pilks missed last Saturday's victory through suspension. - Matches over Christmas and New Year period December 19 - Norwich City (away) - Latest match Video Highlights - Gillingham (home) View the match highlights from the BBC of the Galpharm victory over Gillingham last Saturday. Lee Novak and Jordan Rhodes scored the goals for the Terriers as they came from a goal down to defeat their stubborn Kent rivals. Southampton (Away) | League One | Saturday January 09 2009 (15:00 k/o) These tickets go straight on sale by either online, in person or by phone. They are priced at: Adults: £22 Seniors (over 60s): £17 17-21 year olds: £17 Under 16s: £10 Under 12s: £5 An Adult and Under 16 ticket costs £27 when purchased together. An adult and Under 12 ticket costs £22 when purchased together. Wheelchair and ambulant disabled cost £22, with carer admitted free of charge. January 9th visit to Southampton will be the first League Match between the two sides in Hampshire since September 1971 when Huddersfield won 2-1. It will also be the Terriers first visit to Southampton's impressive new St Mary's Stadium since their 2001 home from the Dell. The stadium - "The Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium" to give it it's full commercial title, is an impressive 32,600 all seater affair which is fit to grace the high echelons of English football. However, the Saints have experienced a torrid time on and off the pitch and started this season on -15 points. That negative points start was further compounded when Town ran riot in a 3-1 home victory in August. Town fans will be allocated seating in a part of the Northam Stand (the North Stand), towards the Itchen Stand, which is behind the goal. Normally 3,200 away supporter seats are available and many visiting supporters have called their visit to one of the best new stadia in England as "excellent". Video wall screens are situated in the roof of both end stands, so Town fans will have a good view of the scoreline. At 32,689 St Mary's is one of the biggest in League One and is the largest football stadium in the south of the country outside of the capital. The 'bowl' arena encourages a decent atmosphere and the visit comes on the heels of away days at two of the other bigger stadia in League One - Elland Road and Carrow Road. Southampton is averaging decent home crowds this season and the highest attendance at the ground is 32,151 for the visit of Arsenal in December 2003. More recently due to problems off the field, on the field and declining attendances parts of the stadium were closed off, but due to the recent increase it is once again fully opened. England have also played a full International match at the stadium, and like the Galpharm Stadium it is used for many over purposes during the week and hosted a number of popular music concerts. The stadium hosted four seasons of Premier League matches followed by four seasons of Championship football before Southampton's relegation to League One last season. 17,849 (last season's average attendance) is the smallest in the history of the stadium. The current average is 19,665 which is 60.1% of the capacity of the stadiu. Like Town, Southampton is one of the form teams of League One currently and although they score goals, they concede as well. Fightback shows Town resilience! Match Result | Huddersfield Town 2-1 Gillingham | League One | Galpharm Stadium | 12/12/2009 Match Details Huddersfield Town Subs Not Used: Glennon, Williams, Butler, Hunt, Goodwin, Robinson. Goals: Novak (40), Rhodes (45) Goals: Jackson (3) Attendance Referee Next Match - Town staff in X-Factor This season The Yorkshire Club is priding itself on doing things slightly differently this season and with Dean Hoyle wishing to attract more support from the targeted markets of 18-35 year olds, over 50's and familes by launching an internal staff incentive scheme called the 'X-Factor'. A play on the ITV1 singing talent show, Hoyle has split his staff into the three areas with the winning team that who attracts the most new support through the turnstiles on match day. Each team led by a club executive, should provide additional incentives for 'new' support to visit the Galpharm Stadium and give their backing to the entertaining brand of football being delivered by Lee Clark's high scoring Terriers. Nigel Clibbens (CEO), Sean Jarvis (Commerical Director) and the Operations Director Ann Hough will be the team leaders. The exciting brand of football on offer this season from the boys in blue and white was further empathised through on-fire striker Lee Novak's revealation that he is benefiting from the extra offensive coaching from Andy Cole and the 'shoot at sight' approach of manager Lee Clark. Novak himself, in his first at this level of football, scored his fourth goal in five matches which levelled matters against Gillingham on Saturday afternoon. Novak moved onto 8 goals for the season (6 in the league) whilst fellow strike partner who scored again on Saturday (Jordan Rhodes) scored his 11th League goal of the season his 15th overall. And with Theo Robinson on 9 goals, Lee Clark's strikers as well as his attacking midefielders are delivering plenty of goals with the strikers all under 24, the furture looks very bright for Huddersfield Town. - |

Norwich City (Away) | League One | Saturday December 19 2009 (15:00 k/o) After this afternoon's impressive performance in the West Yorkshire derby at Elland Road, the next away fixture for Town is a trip to another of League One's powerhouses - Norwich City. Lee Clark's former side City have improved recently and will be looking to take the scalp of the Terriers. The improvement appears to have coincided with the appointment of former Colchester United manager Paul Lambert as manager of the Canaries following a dismal start to the campaign. Clark will be hoping that come the visit to Carrow Road, the final away match before Christmas, the Terriers are still in touch with the leading pack of League One. The Terriers have been given an initial allocation of 1,340 tickets, these are priced at: Adults - £22 Ambulant disabled is priced as per the above pricing policy with one carer admitted to Carrow Road free of charge. Carrow Road the home of Norwich City Football Club over 70 years has seen much development since it was first opened pre second world war. Away fans are allocated part of the newest development at the ground the South Stand or as it is currently named the 'Jarrold Stand'. The Jarrold Stand is the largest of the four with a capacity of over 8,100 - although this is shared with home support. As you'd expect from a club of Norwich's statue the stadium is big, bright and modern. At 26,018 it's one of the League's biggest stadiums. As said away supports are given a portion of the Jarrold Stand. This stand was the last addition to the current guise of Carrow Road. The stadium as undergone total renovation since the 1980's and this was the last one finished in 2004. Away support are given approximately three blocks closest to the Barclay End. Although 1,300 tickets have been given Norwich can supply up to 2,500 should there be a requirement for this and will offer Town fans a touchline view of the action at Carrow Road. Post code for the ground is NR1 1JE. Why not stay over in Norwich and make a weekend of it? ... book a stay! This means that Antony Kay is available for the Gills fixture. He remains on four bookings for the season. -

Town were beaten 3-0 last Boxing Day at Carlisle with a massive Terriers travelling army and Lee Clark will be looking for an improvement on that this season. Town will be selling tickets through a Phases/Tiered method. The 1,486 tickets will be sold in the following Phases: Phase 1 - December 7th 2009 @ 09:30 - Season ticket holders who are a Blue and White Foundation member or a patron with ticket stubs from FIVE away matches from this season. Phase 2 - December 8th 2009 @ 09:30 - Season ticket holders. Phase 3 - December 10th 2009 @ 09:30 - Blue & White Foundation member, patron, supporter with FIVE away ticket stubs (away) from this season. Phase 4 - December 11th, 2009 @ 09:30 - General Sale. Adults: £18 Away supporters are housed in the 'away section' of the Cumberland Building Society (CBS) Stand at Brunton Park. This is reserved seating. Lets hope this season Carlisle United FC, their stewards and police invoke the reserved seating policy as last season, although tickets were sold by Town on a strict "Reserved seating" policy, the stewards in the North West allowed supporters to sit "anywhere you please" causing havoc and some Town fans to be ejected having asked stewards to sit in their allocated seat. Those scenes were a disgrace to football, a disgrace to the travelling supporters, and that must not be allowed to happen again. Supporters can contact the Galpharm Box Office on 08704 44 45 52 for further ticket information and purchase. Enjoy a weekend away in Cumbria MATCHhotels.com in association with thisisthebarmyarmy.co.uk helps sports fans find hotels near sports venues and events. Lee Clark Manager of the Month for November 2009! Lee Clark celebrated a determined and impressive team performance against League leaders Leeds United this afternoon at Elland Road (in which Town won a more than deserved point) by securing the League One Manager of the month award for November 2009. Earlier in the day full back Robbie Williams won the player of the month award. Clark beat off Phil Parkinson, Simon Grayson and Danny Wilson to win the award, with chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel Alan Curbishley stating that some of the performances during an impressive November were "fantastic". Town won three of their four league fixtures with the only blip an away defeat at Swindon Town. The Terriers also won both opening rounds of their FA Cup campaign and booked their place in the third round of the competition. During the month the Terriers scored 17 goals conceded just 4 and moved into the play-off places. It's the first accolade for the manager who is still in his first year has a professional football manager and Town's exciting brand of football is securing plaudits throughout English football. Like Williams player award, it's the first for a Town manager for many season's. The last for Peter Jackson (who won three during his time with the Terriers) for August 2005. The Terriers began League One with four wins, one draw, one defeat in the League (another victory came in the League Cup) and at the end of August sat on top of the League One table. Jackson's other awards coming from League Two - January and March 2004. Former manager Andy Ritchie was nominated for the award in November 2007. The Terriers 'Legend' Gerry Murphy was shortlisted for the award in April 2008 - whilst in a caretaker capacity following the sacking of Ritchie at the start of that month. Murphy was bitterly unlucky not to win the award that went to then Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood. Murphy won four of the six matches (the other two were drawn) conceding just two goals and keeping five clean sheets. He handover to Stan Ternent before taking caretaker reigns once again following the sacking of Ternent in November 2008. -

Williams, who is replaced by Lee Clark in the starting 11 to face Simon Grayson's Leeds United side scored three goals during the month including stunning winners at Oldham Athletic and against Hartlepool United. He was also part of the defence that maintained three clean sheets (two in League One, one in the FA Cup) during the same period. Previously this season Gary Roberts and Jordan Rhodes have been shortlisted for the divisional award, with Lee Clark shortlisted for the managerial award due to be announced later today. The Championship award went to Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose, and the League Two to Laurence Wilson of Morecambe. - Support Town with 'Five Alive' Watch Five League One matches at the Galpharm Stadium from the Upper Tier of the Direct Golf Stand for just £99 saving on normal match day prices £28 - ideal for a Christmas present.
