FA Cup Third Round Draw made! The draw as been made for the Football Association (FA) Cup Third Round live on ITV 1 at 15:45 GMT by Kelly Smith and Sir Steve Redgrave. The Terriers will host Championship highfliers West Bromich Albion. For more on the FA Cup Third Round Draw click here.Town's ball number was 63. Huddersfield Town progressed to the Third Round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 hard fought win at Port Vale thanks to a 12th minute strike from Nathan Clarke. The draw takes place live on ITV1 after the televised fixture at Kettering. The lucrative draw will be made by British Olympiad Sir Steven Redgrave and a star of English Women's football Kelly Smith. The English 'Big Four' are numbered Arsenal (1), Chelsea (11), Liverpool (21) and Manchester United (23). In the Johnstone's Paint Trophy competition Town took healthy numbers to both Rotherham United (Round 1) and Chesterfield (Round 2). Indeed Town fans made up 34% of the attendance at Rotherham and a just under 20% at Chesterfield. Recently in the Coca-Cola League One Town took 3, 909 supporters to Boundary Park which made up 46% of the Sunday afternoon attendance in terrible conditions. For news of the Second Round click here.- No changes to squad The loan deadline day passed over relatively peacefully for Lee Clark who now must use the squad he has until the January transfer window opens. No additions where added and no-one left the club either, however the Examiner is reporting that Town failed in an attempt to lure American born defender Zak Whitbread on loan. Town are reported to have brought the Millwall centre-half to Yorkshire for talks but they could not agree on a terms and nothing happened. The Terriers winning run was ended by Danny Wilson's Swindon Town 2-1. Huddersfield's strike came from a superb 25-yard strike from Lee Novak. Novak's finely executed goal came following an electric passing move by the Terriers. But Swindon grabbed an early second half goal, which proved to be the winner. Lee Clark's former side City have improved recently and will be looking to take the scalp of the Terriers. The improvement appears to have coincided with the appointment of former Colchester United manager Paul Lambert as manager of the Canaries following a dismal start to the campaign. Clark will be hoping that come the visit to Carrow Road, the final away match before Christmas, the Terriers are still in touch with the leading pack of League One. The Terriers have been given an initial allocation of 1,340 tickets, these are priced at: Adults - £22 Ambulant disabled is priced as per the above pricing policy with one carer admitted to Carrow Road free of charge. Carrow Road the home of Norwich City Football Club over 70 years has seen much development since it was first opened pre second world war. Away fans are allocated part of the newest development at the ground the South Stand or as it is currently named the 'Jarrold Stand'. The Jarrold Stand is the largest of the four with a capacity of over 8,100 - although this is shared with home support. As you'd expect from a club of Norwich's statue the stadium is big, bright and modern. At 26,018 it's one of the League's biggest stadiums. As said away supports are given a portion of the Jarrold Stand. This stand was the last addition to the current guise of Carrow Road. The stadium as undergone total renovation since the 1980's and this was the last one finished in 2004. Away support are given approximately three blocks closest to the Barclay End. Although 1,300 tickets have been given Norwich can supply up to 2,500 should there be a requirement for this and will offer Town fans a touchline view of the action at Carrow Road. Tomorrow afternoon that is what Hartlepool United do for the latest round of League One fixtures. The Terriers siting confidently in sixth place will be looking to continue their recent excellent form an claim a ninth win from eleven home matches this season (all competitions). Victory tomorrow against Graham Turner's side tomorrow would be Lee Clark's fifth consecutive win in all competitions. However, Turner like Gary Waddock last week is bring his side to HD1 full of confidence and with no fear and believes his Monkey-Hangers could produce an upset tomorrow afternoon. Turner's side are four points behind Huddersfield Town in ninth and have won 3 times, drawn three times and lost twice on the road this season scoring 12 to conceding 10. Town will be looking to continue their excellent scoring form that has seen two consecutive six-goals hauls and remain unbeaten at the Galpharm. In eight league matches (winning 6, drawing 2) they have smashed 26 goals conceding just 3 times. Such is Town's record at home they have not conceded a home league goal in their last 5 matches (the last was a Yeovil Town goal on 6th minutes way back on August 29). In the last six league matches (home and away) the Terriers have won four times, lost twice, scored 16 goals and let in 3. That record since the beginning of October has seen the side move from ninth in the League One table into the play-off places in sixth. The highly anticipated West Yorkshire Derby with Leeds United at Elland Road will take on December 05 with an early kick-off. It could be very exciting with the home side wanting revenge for the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Town at the venue last season and the fact that the current League One leaders have not beaten the Terriers in four attempts. Town performing the double over United last season for the first time in over 80 years. This fixture at Elland Road is a Category A match. Tickets will be sold in the following phases: Phase 1 - Monday November 16 - Season ticket holders who are also Blue and White Foundation members or patrons and also have four ticket stubs from away games this season. Phase 2 - Tuesday November 17 - Season ticket holders who are also Blue and White Foundation members, Patrons or have four ticket stubs from away games this season. Phase 3 - Wednesday November 18 - All season ticket holders. Phase 4 - Friday November 20 - Blue and White Foundation members, Patrons or supporters with four ticket stubs from away games this season. Phase 5 - Monday November 23 - General Sale. Tickets are priced as follows: Adults: £26 As with last season the Terriers have been issued with 2,300. Consisting of 1,628 in the South East corner and 672 in the South Stand - South Stand tickets are for families and juniors only. Elland Road has been the home of United since their formation in 1919 and at 40,242 is not only the biggest stadium in League One, but one of the biggest football stadiums in England. It was the venue of one of Town's recent great Cup victories - a 1-0 victory over Leeds in the Milk Cup in 1982. The stadium is dominated by the most recent developed part of the ground the callous East Stand - which is doubled tiered and can accommodate 17,000 supporters. It will be one of the most expensive grounds to visit, but should the result be the same as last season when the Terriers dominated the second half and justifiably took all three points then it will be worth every penny of the £26 adults will have to pay for the right to watch Town at Elland Road! Robbie Simpson who joined the Terriers in the summer from Coventry City for a fee of around £300,000 has not had the easiest starts to his Town career. Today he learnt that his niggling thigh injury is worst than first feared and he will be missing for at least a month. In other news from the physio, fellow striker will tomorrow go for a scan on the shoulder he picked up in the 1-0 victory at Oldham Athletic on Sunday. Anthony Pilkington who also picked up an injury at Boundary Park should return to training tomorrow. - |
