Brighton Hove Albion match a Category C match Huddersfield Town's Tuesday night match this week against Brighton Hove Albion (19:45) will be a Category B fixture. For more information on the Huddersfield Town experience and for ticket prices click here.Supporting Town - it is not a choice, but a divine right ... supporting Huddersfield Town all the way. - Former England striker on his way? Could former England striker Andy Cole be on his way to Huddersfield Town and joining the Terriers backroom staff? The confirmed reports in the Examiner would suggest that Lee Clark is in talks with the former Newcastle United and Manchester United hitman about a return to football as Town's striker coach. Cole would work with some fine talent in the club including the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Lee Novak, Theo Robinson and Robbie Simpson who have all impressed since joining in the summer. If Cole joined, it would be up to him to help nurture this young talent into great successes. Andy Cole who was born in Nottingham began his professional career at Arsenal before taking in the delights of Bristol City, Newcastle United, Manchester United, Fulham and so on in a distinguished playing career. He was also capped 15 times by England scoring one goal - against Albania in 2001. He has a string of playing honours including five Premier League titles whilst at Old Trafford and was the PFA Young Player of the Year in 1994. Cole ended a glittering career in November 2008 to focus on coaching. The Premier League's second highest goalscorer is currently striker coach (temporary) at Milton Keynes Dons, where he is working under former Manchester United colleague Paul Ince. If he should join Huddersfield Town, he would be working alongside another former colleague in Lee Clark and former coaches of Derek Fazackerley, Steve Black and Terry McDermott from his time at Newcastle United. -

Their vision is to help create an environment where all children are valued and able to fulfil their potential. To this end, they seek to protect abused children and those at risk of abuse and develop programmes of action to help rescue and protect vulnerable children. There are 177 community-based projects as well as the Child Protection Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands. Most of the NSPCC's work is with children, young people and their families. They also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people. In 2008, without the help of their supporters, The NSPCC would not have been able to launch two new ChildLine centres in Liverpool and Edinburgh. They would not have been able to, in partnership with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre; help safeguard 131 children from sexual abuse and bring about 297 arrests or break 6 organised paedophile rings. There's so much great work The NSPCC need to do for 2009 too. They will continue their campaign to ensure children like Baby P are better protected and increase the number of children they reach with ChildLine from 640,000 to 1.04 million. Quite simply, the NSPCC would not be able to do what it does without people like you helping to promote our cause and to raise funds. This year we will be heavily promoting the Child's Voice Appeal - a three year appeal to improve our helplines so we can be there to listen to every child who calls, and every adult calling concerned about a child. In the spring we will be launching a large scale TV and radio campaign. This partner joins our Charity Programme. - Match Pack! The Giants match at Wembley against Warrington begins at 14:30. The league one match will now kick-off at 12:00 noon. The draw takes place on SKY Sports News at 22:00 hours BST. As with Round One, the Second Round will also be a seeded affair with the 25 highest placed teams based on last season's league placing seeded. There are three matches this evening but once theses are completed these 35 first round winners will be joined by Middlesborough and Newcastle United and the 13 non-European playing Premier League sides. Although the seeded method is implemented for round 2 unlike round 1 there will be no geographical split. A team from the seeded pot will play one from the unseeded pot. The Terriers for this round are unseeded. The Terriers will be hoping to make the Third Round of the League Cup for the first time since 1999/2000 the season they lost to Wimbledon (as was) at home in the 4th round but did have the pleasure of beating Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in the third round. Ten years on, if Lee Clark's side progress from the second stage of the Carling Cup, a return tie with Chelsea could be on the cards! Seeded Teams: Birmingham, Blackburn, Bolton, Bristol City, Burnley, Cardiff, Hull, Ipswich, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Preston, QPR, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Tottenham, Watford, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham, Wigan, Wolves. Sean Jarvis the Commercial Director at Town says this reveals further the commitment of the club to the community in his message on the official website. The Charity website states "Hollybank is a charity with a national reputation for excellence. We are a unique and effective organisation, working with some of society's most vulnerable members - children and adults with complex physical disabilities. These are often coupled with severe learning difficulties." - Johnstones Paint Trophy First Round Draw The draw for the first round of the Members Trophy (JPT) will take place this Saturday (15th) with the Terriers in the hat. Lee Clark's Huddersfield Town side is placed in the North East section of the regionalised draw. Stockport County (Home) | League Cup 1 | Tonight - kickoff 19:45 Tonight's all-league one Carling Cup clash between Huddersfield Town and Stockport County can be watched for a discount price. The Terriers have lost in the first round of this competition for two of the last three seasons. Last season they progressed to round 2 following a 4-0 victory over Bradford City in round 1. Manager Lee Clark would like to progress in cup competitions as it is an opportunity to win football matches. Clark as with new Stockport County manager Gary Ablett will be taking charge of their first ever cup matches for their respective club. Like Town County's recent record in the League Cup is not so positive, having exited it in round one for four of the past five years. They have also not scored in their last six away matches and impressive young Welsh 'keeper Owain Fon Williams is missing tonight for the visitors due to International duty. Former Town trialist Paul Gerrard the County goalkeeping coach will take the 'keepers jersey this evening. Pay at the turnstiles for all supporters - in all areas of the ground. Adults - £15 Wheelchair Disabled - £10 (one carer free of charge) The Fantastic Media Family Stand will be closed for this fixture, whilst The Pink Link will not be available for home support. The above prices also apply to visiting County supporters who will solely occupy The Pink Link Stand (South Stand). Tonight's match must be settled on the night so if the scores are level 30 minutes of extra time will be played. If they remain level then penalty kicks will be taken. - Lucketti on his way out of Town? Former club captain veteran defender Chris Lucketti could be on his way out of Huddersfield Town. Lucketti who was signed last summer by previous manager Stan Ternent and promptly made club captain has failed to feature under new manager Lee Clark since his arrival in December 2008. Clark advised the former Bury and Sheffield United defender that he did not feature in his plans for this season. With only one season left on his contract it looked like Lucketti would remain at Huddersfield Town. However it is understood that Crewe Alexandra have made an enquiry about taking the defender on loan until the end of the season, with a deal likely to be concluded before the end of the month. - |

Clark wants "entertaining" football! This summer manager Lee Clark has been backed by ambitious Chairman Dean Hoyle all the way and more as Clark has brought in six on paper very good signings. But now it is almost time for the talking to be done on the field of play, as the new season beckons. Town start at Southend United and Clark wants the best possible of starts as he targets a solid starting platform from which to launch a credible and lasting promotion challenge. Clark told the local press in Huddersfield: "I want us to be an entertaining team, to pass the ball, be inventive and to play without fear, but most of all I want us to win. If we can win by adopting those thoughts and ideas I've given to the squad then so much the better, but the be all and end all is winning games. Sometimes you have to win when you're not playing so well by digging in and by all 11 out there on the pitching fighting for each other." -

Flynn said he was pleased to be joining an "ambitious club" in City and goes with the well wishes of this site. Flynn set to join Bantams Midfielder Michael Flynn is set to cross West Yorkshire to League Two side Bradford City after agreeing to a mutual termination of his Huddersfield Town contract. Flynn who signed last summer on a two year deal was told last month by Lee Clark that he did not feature in his plans and he was free to join another club. That club looks set to be Bradford after the Welshman and Town have agreed to terminate the contract which will enable this move up the M606. It is yet another of former manager Stan Ternent's signings that has failed having only joined last July from Blackpool on a free transfer having been with the Lancashire club for just one season. Flynn made 27 appearances for the Terriers scoring five goals, but latterly in his Terriers career was critical of chairman Dean Hoyle's removal of Ternent as manager in November of last year. Flynn who was one of 11 players drafted in by Ternent - only three remain (Andy Butler, Jim Goodwin and Gary Roberts) said: "The chairman-elect (Dean Hoyle) has given his reasons to the players but I think the club have been premature. Fifteen matches isn't long enough and the board have said that, but I think there is too much chopping and changing in football anyway. It's something I don't agree with. The clubs who have been successful are those who have had stability and continuity." Flynn went out to Darlington on loan last season and he was one of the players we thought would leave the club within a matter of months after his outburst at Ternent's departure. This site commented on November 8, 2008: "Michael Flynn has come out this week in support of Ternent believing that he was not given enough time and should have stayed, so it will be interesting to see the number of players Ternent brought in how many of them will actually remain under the new regime." The Newport born player has agreed a one-year deal with the Bantams and will go straight into their squad for their trip to Notts County on Saturday. He will join up with former Terriers midfielder Chris Brandon, who today has been told the club do not need to sell him to balance the books and Simon Eastwood who is currently on loan at the Coral Windows Stadium. Flynn has also played football for Blackpool, Gillingham and Wigan before his summer move to the Galpharm Stadium last July. He has also played in his native Wales for Newport County and Barry Town. - Visit out You Tube Channel For this coming season we aim to shoot some footage from the Galpharm Stadium and upload it to our YouTube page. Match Officials Appointments Southend United (away) Saturday August 08, 2009 The Match Officials for Saturday's match at the Roots Hall have been announced. - Terriers thwarted in bid to bring back Kelly! Lee Clark has been left disappointed in his bid to bring back defender Martin Kelly on a season long loan after the Liverpool junior impressed the Anfield Road club enough to warrant the 19-year-old being in focus of the Liverpool first team management plans. It had been planned that the right back would return to the Terriers having played well for the League One side last season whilst on loan. He scored once during an impressive seven match loan spell from Merseyside. But Reds manager Rafa Benitez has been impressive with Kelly a product of their Academy form during pre-season and is likely to use the defender as part of his Champions League plans. Clark will now move on to his next target as he plans to strengthen his defence as the League One kick-off approaches. - JPT Draw News! The draw news for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy (Members Cup) for Round One has been released today, spilt into a Northern Section and a Southern Section. Eight clubs destined for each section have been awarded byes to Round Two, the Terriers due to them awarded one last season are not one of them. Each main section is then broken down into two further sections, East and West and the Terriers will feature in the East Section of the Northern Division. Alongside Town are Peter Jackson's Lincoln City, Bradford City, league new comers Burton Albion, Darlington, Rochdale and Rotherham United. So the Terriers will be regarded as the strongest of the teams in this section for round one of the competition. The other sections are as follows: Northern (West): Accrington Stanley, Bury, Carlisle United, Crewe Alexandra, Morecambe, Oldham Athletic, Stockport County, Walsall. Southern (East): Barnet, Brentford, Colchester United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Gillingham, Millwall, Milton Keynes Dons, Norwich City. Southern (West): AFC Bournemouth, Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Hereford United, Northampton Town, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers, Yeovil Town. The clubs with the byes are: Northern: Grimsby Town, Hartlepool United, Leeds United, Macclesfield Town, Notts County, Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town and Tranmere Rovers. Southern: Aldershot Town, Brighton & Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic, Exeter City, Leyton Orient, Southampton, Southend United and Swindon Town. The draw will take place on SKY TV on Saturday morning as part of the Soccer AM programme. Late double secures Town win Match Result | Wrexham 1-3 Huddersfield Town | Pre-Season | Racecourse Ground | 01/08/2009 It may be Yorkshire Day today this Saturday but the Terriers final pre-season match of the season was far from a bed of roses as Dean Saunders Wrexham gave Lee Clark's side a very good test at the Racecourse Ground. Town took the lead inside the opening 2 minutes of the match through Theo Robinson, but it was the Blue Square Premier side that looked the more impressive and it was no shock that Gareth Taylor (31) equalised for the Welsh outfit. Perhaps the goal highlighting a week area of Town's defence - a slow left-back and this frailty will need to be addressed by Clark before the end of the transfer window. Town had to wait until the final moments of the game to secure a victory. Lee Novak restored the Terriers lead on 83 minutes with a fine header. The result was put in doubt on 85 minutes when Gary Roberts scored Town's third.
