Summer of changes beacons for rebuilding Terriers

Having seen his side win for the first time on the road under his tenure manager Lee Clark was not only delighted to get back to winning ways, but he also gave a clear indication of what the future holds for the current players in the Town roster.

Two of them definitely not in his plans for next season are old heads David Unsworth and Chris Lucketti. The former it is understood has come to a mutual agreement with the club to have his contract cancelled. Unsworth has only featured four times this season and has not got anywhere near the first team since the arrival of the new management team in December.

Lucketti has been told he does not feature in Clark's plans and will surely leave the club in summer.

Both veteran defenders were brought into the club by former manager Stan Ternent and neither have really featured under Lee Clark.

Clark said that other players will leave the club in summer for pastures new, so get ready for a busy summer. Last summer under Stan Ternent and Ronnie Jepson was busy, the one to come will surely be the same.

Once again, the manager praised the travelling Town support at Edgar Street who gave excellent backing the team who saw Town win for the first time since December 13 - a 1-0 victory at Roots Hall.

The new ENGLAND 2009/2011 kit revealed!

Through our partner KitBag, you can be one of the first to wear the new England kit when it is released for sale on April 1st by pre-ordering it today!

Be one of the first to own and wear with pride the England 2009/2011 Umbro technical sponsored England kit. Its an impressive retro-style shirt and is certain to be a sure fire hit with all England supporters - many of whom will be hoping the kit features in next summer's World Cup in South Africa!

Its traditional, it's simple, it's elegant and it's a must buy for all England football fans.

"Umbro's design team, headed up by senior designer David Blanch, was joined by noted RCA graduate Aitor Throup, a specialist in motion design and Savile Row trained tailor Charlie Allen. Together they deconstructed the traditional shirt and evaluated every stitch and seam in relation to its purpose in football.

The result is a stylish, made-to-measure kit specifically designed to adapt to and reflect player movement during a game.

The fabric used is an evolution of current kit materials, combining a high cotton content with performance capabilities and breathability. The shorts come in different length fittings and even the socks have had seams repositioned and feature special ankle sections for improved fit.

Taking initial inspiration from the all-white strip worn in the 1966 World Cup semi-final against Argentina, the new England Shirt is a stunning statement of confidence in pure, unadulterated, white-on-white. Even the star representing England's 1966 World Cup victory is in tonal white.

The only colours on display on the new England Shirt are a red Umbro logo and the newly-designed, light blue 'Three Lions' Crest."

Even the Umbro logo returns to the former narrower and taller logo rather than the 'stretched' logo which as been in use for a number of years now.

Loan Watch!

Former club Captain Jon Worthington has been recalled by Town from his loan spell at Yeovil Town. Worthington joined the League One side on January 30th and is out of contract at the end of the current season.

The Dewsbury born combative midfield general feature nine times at Hush Park, adding four yellow cards to his collection this season leading to a suspension due to him collating 10 yellows for the season!

The midfielder is still tipped to be set to leave the Galpharm Stadium this summer, but will use his return to the club as impetus to win a new contract. He has not featured for Lee Clark's first team since Boxing Day. His recall could also be due to a club wanting to come in for Worthington who is half way through a suspension and looking at giving the Gomersal based player a contract in the summer.

During his time at Yeovil Worthington saw a change in first team management as Terry Skiverton replaced Russell Slade in the Glovers hotseat!

Worthington is suspended for the match at Edgar Street on Saturday but will be available for selection on Tuesday night for the match with Bristol Rovers. Town will travel down tomorrow (Friday) for the Hereford United fixture and stay down in the South West until after Tuesday night's fixture.

In other news Town are reported to have given permission for Chris Lucketti to leave on loan to Brighton Hove Albion. However the experienced defender and current club captain as turned down the move to the South Coast outfit.

However a loan deal that as gone through today is left-back Joe Skarz joining League One Hartlepool United. Academy product Skarz joins fellow Town man striker Keigan Parker on loan until the end of the season. Parker today had his loan extended by United boss Chris Turner until the end of the season.

Skarz becomes the latest and sixth Town player to be loaned out currently by the club. The number of loan moves out of the club clearly means that Lee Clark will have a busy summer ahead of him as he prepares to build a squad capable of pushing for promotion next season and sharing his desire for success. Clearly many will leave Town in the coming months.

18 year old England Under-19 defender Martin Kelly has joined Town on loan until the end of the season. The Liverpool Academy product born close to the city in Whiston has a decent pedigree and is highly thought of at Anfield and is firmly in Lee Clark's mind for a first team start on Saturday.

He has featured once for the Pool first team this season the final 15 minutes of their UEFA Champions League victory over PSV Eindhoven at the back end of 2008. Kelly has also performed well for the Liverpool reserves and was an integral part of the League winners last season.

On Liverpool's official website they say of Kelly "The tall but elegant defender, who missed almost two years of his Academy development due to a back problem, can play across the back four."

Town have given their recent capture the number 29 shirt.

Reserves gain home point

A young Town reserves side grabbed a point against an experienced Barnsley side at the Galpharm Stadium yesterday with Chris Fagan again on the scoresheet in a 1-1 draw. In the reserves 13th totesport.com league match the leaders took the lead on 40 minutes.

Barnsley brought parity to the score in the second half.

Town remain on top of the table with 31 from their 13 matches. The next match is April 8th at the Galpharm Stadium for a match with second placed Leeds United.

2009/2010 New Home Kit and sponsor!

This morning Huddersfield Town AFC have released details of the new home kit sponsor as well as releasing the new look Terriers shirt.

It is a proud day for the club has they announce that the Town shirt for the first time ever will have a non-commercial sponsor. In these difficult economic times for the club to have a non-commercial contract on front of the famous blue and white stripe shirt is an honourable and kind gesture.

In a three season deal (which can be revised after year season) Yorkshire Air Ambulance will feature across the centre of the new home shirt. The Terriers choose YAA calling this a unique affinity between "two iconic Yorkshire icons" as they hope through the "Keep It Up" campaign plenty of revenue will be gained for YAA. This is the start of a three-year fundraising drive by the club to help promote and improve Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

50p from every £1 raised through the "Keep It Up" campaign will be donated to YAA. More details and to track the success of this campaign will be available via the website keepitup.org.uk. The remaining half of the money will go towards the Town Academy.

YAA is operated 365 days a year and costs £2.65 million each year to run. The charity was set up in 2000 and since 2007 operates two helicopters from its base in Sheffield and Leeds Bradford Airport. It operates a life saving rapid response service to five million people across Yorkshire.

Now the new 'home shirt'...

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance logo will feature on thicker and lighter blue and white stripes from last season. Shorts will be predominately white with the same blue used in two side flashes. Socks will feature the same blue as the blue used in the shirt.

HTAFC features in white on the top of the socks with a white band and red piping towards the centre of the socks featuring technical sponsors "Mitre" brand.

The red piping that features on the socks also features on the shirt and the shorts. The Town crest features in the same shield as the away shirt but with a white background. The stars to represent the triple championship success in the 1920's once again are proudly displayed over the crest.

The YAA sponsorship features in red, sharing the same red as the piping throughout the kit.

This is certainly a different era for football and a different era for Huddersfield Town. The Terriers are "on a journey" and this is certainly a decent and proud part of the journey. Paul Gowland YAA Director of Fundraising as called this partnership "exciting and innovative" with Sean Jarvis the club's Director of Business Development commenting that Town fans can be "proud" and he is "delighted" to have Yorkshire across the shirt - Town have had this previously through the affinity sponsorship with Yorkshire Building Society a couple of season's ago.

Commercial activities across the county will compliment the additional brand awareness of having YAA across the front of the blue and white stripes. Town fans are encouraged to get behind this initiative. The move to a Charity sponsor is a first for Town. Aston Villa this season gave over their shirts to "Acorn" a children's Charity, whilst Spanish Giants gave their shirt to UNICEF. Sheffield Wednesday have also had a charity sponorship.

On Saturday the Terriers revealed their away kit for next season the "Scarlet Runners" kit. A red shirt with navy blue and white flashes, navy blue shorts and socks - see 21/03/2009 news for more information and a photo of the new away shirt.

Click here to see the new home shirt.

Both kits are available on pre-order starting at £39.99.

Reserves issue another hammering!

Huddersfield Town reserves defeated second placed Hartlepool United at Billingham last night with a stylish 5-0 victory including an hat trick from on trial Chris Fagan. Captain Michael Flynn and Spencer Harris added the other two in a one side away match for Paul Stephenson's side.

The reserves maintained their championship charge with their ninth victory in their 12 matches with four to play. Fagan's hat trick is the third time a reserve team player has secured this feat. Last time out at Bradford City Keigan Parker scored an hat trick and Luke Beckett also smashed a hat trick past Bradford City at the Welfare Ground in October.

It was a comprehensive victory for Stephenson's side as the Development Coach returned to one of his former sides last night. Flynn gave the Terriers the lead, before Fagan scored a quick fire brace. Danny Barlow almost added a fourth goal before the break, but his effort went into the side netting.

Shortly afterward the restart Harris added the fourth, before Fagan added a late fifth and his hat trick. That rounded off a great night for the visiting Huddersfield side whilst putting the final nail in a pretty sorry coffin on a miserable night for the home side.

The Town side was a mix of experience and youth with Dominik Werling, Michael Flynn, James Berrett and Joe Skarz the four players who have featured in the first team this season.

The Terriers showed just why they are top of the totesport.com League East Division and were lively throughout the contest with Town 'keeper Simon Eastwood remained relatively untested throughout the game.

Town top the table. Having played 12 matches winning nine of them and remaining unbeaten, they have 30 points with 39 goals (with a goal difference of plus 22). Thats now eight points clear of second placed Hartlepool United who are on 22 points from 10 matches. The Pools having gone unbeaten have now lost their last two matches and the title is back in the hands of Town.

New Partners

Today marks one of the busiest days in recent weeks for the number of brand new partners to The Shop - the online shopping channel of thisisthebarmyarmy.co.uk

NSPCC Campaign

The NSPCC exists to change our society and bring about an end to cruelty to children. Their vision is to help create an environment where all children are valued and able to fulfil their potential. To this end, they seek to protect abused children and those at risk of abuse and develop programmes of action to help rescue and protect vulnerable children.

There are 177 community-based projects as well as the Child Protection Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands.

Most of the NSPCC's work is with children, young people and their families. They also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people.

In 2008, without the help of their supporters, The NSPCC would not have been able to launch two new ChildLine centres in Liverpool and Edinburgh. They would not have been able to, in partnership with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre; help safeguard 131 children from sexual abuse and bring about 297 arrests or break 6 organised paedophile rings.

There's so much great work The NSPCC need to do for 2009 too. They will continue their campaign to ensure children like Baby P are better protected and increase the number of children they reach with ChildLine from 640,000 to 1.04 million. Quite simply, the NSPCC would not be able to do what it does without people like you helping to promote our cause and to raise funds.

This year we will be heavily promoting the Child's Voice Appeal - a three year appeal to improve our helplines so we can be there to listen to every child who calls, and every adult calling concerned about a child. In the spring we will be launching a large scale TV and radio campaign.

SpeedBreaks

Travelling solo can be a daunting experience for many and can sometimes be off-putting. However, Speedbreak's introduction of holidays aimed specifically at single people between the ages of 27 - 49 aims to alleviate these concerns whilst providing a host of activities and opportunities to meet new people.

Activities range from tasting wine whilst taking in the picturesque views over the Bay of Naples to white knuckling water rafting in the Slovenian Alps. Prices can start from as little as £19.95 for a day of cycling in Hertfordshire rising to £1495 for a 2-week safari in Zambia.

Other activities include: • Diving • Horse Riding • Beach Fun • Sailing • Skiing • Snowboarding • Surfing • Wind Surfing • Tennis • Walking

Speedbreaks aims to have an equal number of male and females per trip which, on average, consists of around 20 people. For those concerned about spending a weekend with a group of strangers, the organisation hosts an initial 'ice-breaker' introduction which includes champagne, a meal and a chance to relax and mingle. Speedbreaks have found however, that the best ice-breaker is when everyone's involved in the activities end up getting on amazingly well.

Is another new addition to our Holidays Programme.

GET BEHIND THE TOWN EVOLUTION!

BRING A FRIEND FOR A £10 - SEASON TICKET HOLDERS!

This Saturday afternoon's League One fixture will again be a fixture Terriers supporters can use the South Stand.

The continuing success of Town fans enjoying the end designated for away fans as resulted in the club continuing this strategy. Town fans were first allowed to be seated in the Pink Link on October 28th. However Town fans have been asked to abide by the rules of the stadium or risk losing this incentive.

For Season Ticket holders:

You will need to present the match voucher for this match (number 20) at the turnstile and for adults pay £1, for concessions 50p. This is a change to the previous arrangement where supporters wishing to transfer was required to attend the ticket office for a ticket change.

As with the arrangements for the previous two matches where Town fans have had access to the South Stand, supporters simply just turn up on match day and subject to availability you will be given access. It was busy for the last South Stand match, so ensure you arrive in plenty of time.

For Non Season Ticker holders, normal admission prices apply:

Adults - £20
Seniors - £12
Students - £10
Under 16s - £10

Chairman-Elect Dean Hoyle believes the Town support can be the Terriers 12th man, so continue to support the South Stand initiative and get behind the Town evolution!

If you are a season ticket holder why not consider bringing a friend to this fixture on Saturday. Exchange the special voucher "1970 Promoted as Champions" from the season ticket booklet and claim a match ticket for just £10. These ticket transfers must be completed before match day.

GET BEHIND THE TOWN EVOLUTION!

REDUCED PRICES FOR THE FANTASTIC MEDIA STAND!

This evening's League One clash with Colchester United will be the latest fixture where Terriers fans can occupy a section of the Pink Link South Stand.

The success of the South Stand trial which took in four league matches beginning with the October 28th visit of Yeovil Town and taking in Leyton Orient, Walsall, Hereford United, Swindon Town and Hartlepool United generated passionate support from behind the goal, however Town fans have been asked to abide by the rules of the stadium or risk losing this incentive.

For Season Ticket holders:

You will need to present the match voucher for this match (number 18) at the turnstile and for adults pay £1, for concessions 50p.

In addition to the South Stand been available for Town supporters, the North Stand - Fantastic Media Stand will enjoy reduced pricing for the match. Ticket prices are as follows:

Adults - £10
Seniors - £5
Students - £5
Under 16s - £3
Family Package (2 adults, 2 children) - £15

You can purchase this ticketing incentive this evening at the turnstiles.
