RESULT: Huddersfield Town 2-1 Oldham Althletic

Pawell Abbott's 19th and 20th goals for Huddersfield Town this season, gave Town an impressive 2-0 lead at half time. Returning home striker Delroy Facey also impressed setting up both goals for Abbott.

The visitors who recalled the inspired Pogliacomi into the goalkeeper position, made a string of fine stops to prevent Town extending their lead. After the break Athletic cam more and more into the game and secure a consolation goal on 74 minutes when Guy Branston latched onto a flick on and secured something for the 1,400 travelling supporters to sing about

RESULT: Huddersfield Town 1-0 Blackpool

Luke Beckett scored after just 87 seconds to give a young Town side a deserved victory against in-form Blackpool. Town had opportunities to extend the lead, but in the end played well to hold the lead after Chris Brandon was sent-off on 57 minutes.

Young John McAliskey had the chance to put Town 2-0 up in the game but saw his penalty in the 62nd minute saved by Bradley in the Pool goal.

It was the first clean sheet since the goalless draw at Colchester United in November and the first win in 4 matches

JACKO CHASING SHEFFIELD UNITED
Peter Jackson will be speaking with former Town manager Neil Warnock about loan man Luke Beckett, Warnock now the manager of Sheffield United will rule whether or not Beckett remains onloan at the Galpharm Stadium.

With Jackson likely to be missing Andy Booth next Saturday and with Pawel Abbott out through suspension Jackson will be stepping up his bid to get Beckett's loan extended

Optimistic as always Town boss Peter Jackson remained up beat despite the Terriers late defeat to Milton Keynes Dons. The manager gave his players the aim of 10 wins from the remaining 16 matches. Town now has just 14 matches and not a victory in sight.

But the manager in true Jackson style remained upbeat about his side. As at Walsall Jackson felt that the Terriers should have come away with something from a match in which Town dominated. He felt that his side was outstanding and said "We didn't deserve to get beaten"

Jackson felt that the players that have come through the junior ranks of the club to make the first team did the club proud with their display on Saturday

RESULT: Milton Keynes Dons 2-1 Huddersfield Town

Andy Booth's 6th goal of the season was not enough to end the Terriers run of winless away matches. A young Town defence had to suffer the misery of conceding a second goal in injury time at the end of the second half to lose the match.

As thisisthebarmyarmy.co.uk predicted during the week the Terriers started with Tom Clarke in defence with his brother Nathan, with David Mirfin returning to the centre and Rob Edwards at left-back. Despite Jackson's well-laid plans and the Terriers looking effective, he was forced into a change.

Edwards was injured on 26 minutes and was replaced by John McCombe. Mirfin moved to left back with McCombe moving into the middle of defence. Following the effects of the clash of heads with Edwards, in which the former Town captain had to be replaced on 26 minutes, David Mirfin himself was replaced by Lee Fowler, with Adnan Ahmed moving to left-back.

The Terriers was very unlucky to go into the half time break not infront on their first visit to the National Hockey Stadium. Town took the lead when Andy Booth powered in a Nathan Clarke free-kick on 30 minutes. The home side was level just two minutes later when Izzy McLeod levelled. McLeod tapping in the ball following a Paul Rachubka parry after Ben Harding had broken the Town off-side trap.

Polish striker Pawel Abbott thought that he had given the Terriers the lead having come on as a second half sub. But all the Pole got for his troubles was a yellow card, his fifth of the season. Abbott headed home a Lee Fowler left wing centre, but the assistant flagged for an infringement, which looked harsh on the Terriers top scorer.

Further harsh lessons was learned by Huddersfield Town. With the game heading towards a draw, after the visitors had missed a host of chances to win the game, Lee Fowler lost the ball and with Town struggling to clear their lines Clive Platt made no mistake when he rifled his shot past Town's American born keeper.

It is now four away matches on the bounce that have ended in defeat for the Terriers and it is SEVEN since they tasted victory on their travels when they beat Swindon Town 2-1 on December 8, 2004.

A total of 12 games (36 points) have been played since the match at Swindon, and Town has picked up just 10 points. They have also had just 2 victories during that time Port Vale and Bournemouth and slipped from 10th place to 15th.

Ironically when Town beat MK Dons at the Galpharm Stadium, they were well placed for the play-off's in 7th place with 23 points, some 4 months on and just 16 points later they have slipped to 15th position in the League One table and worryingly looking at keeping their heads above the relegation haunted sides.

Milton Keynes are the 4th bottom side and they are now just 7 points adrift of the Terriers, although Town do have a better goal difference, than all but one of the sides below them.

Town's next match is a home tie with Blackpool at the Galpharm Stadium next Saturday, a match Jackson's side must win. A match in which Town will be without Abbott, certainly without the Sheffield United returning loan-man Luke Beckett and possibly without Andy Booth who picked up a injury during this defeat. That could mean a return up front for Junior Mendes with either Danny Schofield, Akpo Sodje or John McAliskey to partner the former Chelsea man.

Tony Carss, David Mirfin, Rob Edwards and Andy Holdsworth could also be missing again next Saturday through injury!
