Result: Rotherham United 1-1 Huddersfield Town

Second half substitute Gary Taylor-Fletcher scored on 92 minutes to ensure Town recorded a point in their visit to Millmoor. Following an abject Terriers display in the first half, Peter Jackson saw his side 1-0 down after Deon Burton put the home side into a 9th minute lead with a sweet free-kick.

Town improved in the second half and threw everything at United, getting their rewards in the second minute of injury time

Chelsea sold out!

Town's next FA Cup game, perhaps the game of the season is sold out. The Terriers have sold every ticket for the Third Round match at Stamford Bridge. It took just seven hours for Town fans to snap up the 6,100 tickets priced at £25 for adults.

The ticket office staff worked brilliantly to get through the massive queues that welcomed them to work on Monday morning. Many fans who had not wanted to risk missing the match queued for several hours in cold conditions to ensure that they had a prize ticket for Peter Jackson's side's visit to the Premiership leaders and Champions

Town Juniors Progress in FA Youth Cup

The Academy side is showing their first team colleagues how to do it. Town beat Leicester City in the Midlands 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time. The Terriers will now face Carlisle United at Brunton Park in January in the Fourth Round. The Terriers who have secured just one win in their Premiership Group D sector of matches, will have been delighted with this hard fought victory.

Adams injured

Left back Danny Adams is injured for the home match with Southend United on Saturday. With the Terriers looking to get back to winning ways after Saturday's disappointing 2-0 defeat at Bristol City, Jackson will be hoping that they can use the home tie with United as a catalyst for an exciting festive period.

Adams could be replaced in the side by young midfielder Adnan Ahmed who replaced Adams at Ashton Gate on Saturday. Even though Adams is struggling with a dead leg, he would not have been available due to suspension for five yellow cards.

Adams is an ever present this season

Trio on the way out?

On loan Town trio Anthony Lloyd (Torquay United), Junior Mendes (Northampton Town) and Lee Fowler (Scarborough) could all make their loan moves permanent in the January transfer window.

Peter Jackson has said that he would be willing to negotiate a permanent deal with the loan clubs for any of the three players. It will come as no surprise to supporters and the players alike, that Jackson would not "stand in their way of any move".

WORLD CUP: England's Group for the 2006 World Cup in Germany

England has been placed in Group B for the 2006 World Cup. They will face Paraguay, newcomers Trinidad & Tobago and Sweden - who they face in the group stages in the 2002 World Cup.

England will open their campaign on Saturday June 10 against Paraguay, then play Trinidad & Tobago on Thursday June 15th before ending the group stages against Sweden on Tuesday June 20.

Should England qualify from the group stages, they will then play either the winners or runner-up's of Group A which contains Germany and Poland. In the second round it would either be game 1 if they are runners-up or game three if there are winners. Those two matches play Saturday June 24 and Sunday June 25 respectively.

The opening match of the 18th World Cup will be between host nation Germany and Costa Rica in Munich on Friday June 09 2005 with a 5pm kick off (BST). Poland will open their account on the same evening three hours later.

Tom benefits

Tom Clarke, the young Town defender is one of two players to benefit from the mad final 10 minutes of the away match at Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday evening.

Clarke junior, will rejoin his older brother Nathan in the centre of Town's defence for a must win game at Bristol City tomorrow. He replaces David Mirfin who was one of two Town players sent off in midweek.

Danny Schofield will replace the second player Chris Brandon who like Mirfin will also be suspended for the long trip to Ashton Gate. Schofield is returning to the side after serving his suspension, for a red card he received during the 1-0 FA Cup victory at Worcester City last Sunday

-

Jackson aims are simple for Saturday's match

Although Town manager Peter Jackson is respectful to Saturday's opponents Bristol City and he cannot understand why they are at the bottom of the league one paper, is aiming for victory on Saturday.

Three points and nothing less will do for Jackson who saw his side slip to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening having led 2-0 with nine minutes to go. Jackson who knows that it will be a tough match against a side who will be looking to end a run of nine straight defeats, their latest at home on Tuesday evening against Bradford City.

Bristol City will field from the start former Town striker Marcus Stewart who is one of many City players bewildered by the current form of their side, which as already seen one managerial sacking and could see another if new boss Gary Johnson does not start improving the form.

Town will be without David Mirfin, Chris Brandon and Danny Adams who are all suspended for the tie, but Tom Clarke, Danny Schofield, but who will replace Adams at left-back is a mystery.

Perhaps Jackson could go for a 3-5-2 formation with both Clarke's Matthew Young in the centre. But Town always perform better with the more conventional 4-4-2 formation and added to the squad with Young is striker John McAliskey. McAliskey's loan deal at Torquay United was cut short due to injury, and his addition to the squad is a surprise.

Whether however he returns back north on Saturday evening or he makes the short journey south from Bristol to Devon will be interesting to see

Players aim to bounce back

Peter Jackson has confirmed that this downtrodden playing staff are looking forward to bouncing back at Ashton Gate on Saturday. Jackson admitted that his players felt down after losing a 2-0 lead at MK Dons on Tuesday evening. The Dons came back to equalise and Town had David Mirfin and Chris Brandon sent off in second half injury time.

Jackson who has spoke vehemently about the referee's actions in the match, and a factor of Jackson's anger will come as there was not a bad challenge in the match, as backed his players (now two points a drift of leaders Swansea City) to bounce back at bottom of the table Bristol City

-

Booth and Adams point to league status

Although both Andy Booth and Danny Adams are looking forward to the FA Cup Third Round tie at Chelsea, both players are aware of the pressure there is on in the league schedule, with six matches in the league before the visit to Stamford Bridge.

Both players who have played a key role in Town's first half season exploits have confirmed that they are keen not to let the league placing slip and have stressed that league success is the priority.

With a 40,000 crowd expected at Stamford Bridge, the Terriers look set to have around 6,000 supporters in London for the match

Match Result: Milton Keynes Dons 2-2 Huddersfield Town

It was all going very nicely to plan with just nine minutes left. Huddersfield Town was cruising 2-0 to the good and Milton Keynes Dons had just had their first shot on target in the 78th minute. Things got worse in injury time, when for the second match on the trot Town had two players sent off.

It was almost a dream birthday for legend Andy Booth, who scored Town's second, but the final 9 minutes of the match left a sour taste.

But football matches are 90 minutes long, and anyone who missed the final 10 minutes of this match would have gone away with a very different feel to the match.

For the second season running Town threw away points in an away game with Milton Keynes Dons. Last season it was a point, this season it is two points, but at least this time around they have gained a point.

Peter Jackson made just change to the side that defeated Worcester City in the cup on Sunday. Gary Taylor-Fletcher was replaced in attack by Pawel Abbott, and Taylor-Fletcher filled the wing position vacated by the suspended Danny Schofield.

Abbott gave Town the dream start on 6 minutes when he headed home following a Town corner - his first goal in 10 matches. The corner was half cleared by the home defence, before Brandon's teasing cross was met with a great timed header by Abbott. Andy Booth had forced the corner after his shot on the volley was tipped around the post.

On 23 minutes Brandon was unlucky not to double the Terriers lead when his individual skill skinned a MK Dons defender but the home 'keeper did well to parry the shot.

Things got better for Town midway through the second half when Booth doubled Town's lead with a precise diving header from a Danny Adams cross. It was a glorious cross by the Town left-back who beat the home defence totally and the goal could have been scored by a number of Town players.

The Booth goal allowed Town some parity in the match, as they controlled proceedings and the pressure the home side had put them under had all but gone.

Town's discipline was not good in this match and they regularly had men booked. With just nine minutes, and their second shot on target Danny Wilson's men were thrown a lifeline when substitute Nicky Risso scored a wonderful freekick from 20 yards after Danny Adams had fouled Gary Smith. With Adams on a yellow card he was fortunate not be sent off.

Two minutes later and Izale McLeod scored Milton Keynes equalising goal - last season he scored a late winner. Town failed to deal with Smith on the right and it was his cross that found the striker for the Dons second. Town's hopes of staying joint top with Swansea City and handing the Dons their second home defeat of the season had gone.

Although Town pushed for a victory, David Mirfin was sent off in injury time for a second booking and Chris Brandon became the sixth Town booking inside injury time. Moments later the influential midfielder saw red for his second booking (two bookings in the space of 45 seconds!).

Town almost grabbed a winner very late in the game, when Booth, Brandon, Andy Holdsworth and Jon Worthington (another of the players booked) struck the post.

McLeod almost grabbed what would have been an unlikely winner when he went through an hesitant Town defence, who do not like true pace at them. Jackson had identified the pace of the Milton Keynes attackers before the match as a threat, but 'keeper Paul Rachubka was quickly off his line to block the Dons striker's shot.

The Dons had a chance from the freekick that saw Mirfin sent off, but Rizzo this time saw his fierce freekick well saved by Rachbuka. What an inspired substitution it was to bring Rizzo into the match on 72 minutes and the Australian born player did not disappoint his manager Danny Wilson.

Jackson said before the match that Town could not underestimate the Dons as they would be a tough side to beat. Tonight they proved just that. It is fair to say that the Dons have struggled for form this season and spent much of it in the relegation zone. But this result and other recent results suggest that the Milton Keynes based outfit are back on track.

Jackson also gave an objective to his side "not to slip up" having lead with just 9 minutes to go, this result feels like a defeat and a slip up, although it extends the Terriers unbeaten league run to 5 matches.

Town now need all three points from Saturday's long trip to Ashton Gate when they face bottom club Bristol City.

Peter Jackson was disappointed with the referee believing that his team was "robbed" after the surrendered a 2-0 lead. Jackson was pleased with the effort and stated that there was no bad tackle in the match.

Town will be missing three players for the trip to Ashton Gate. David Mirfin and Chris Brandon due to their sending off's and Danny Adams (lucky not to be sent off also) with his fifth booking. Jackson felt that Town was "cruising" when two goals up, but was adamant that Town will bounce back on Saturday.

Stats:

Ball Possession: Town: 46%, MK Dons: 54%
Shots: Town: 14, MK Dons: 11
Shots on target: Town: 9, MK Dons: 5
Corners: Town: 4, MK Dons: 9
Yellow Cards: Town: 6, MK Dons: 1
Red Cards: Town 2, MK Dons 0
Attendance: 4,832

Match Result: Worcester City 0-1 Huddersfield Town, FA Cup Second Round

Man of the match Chris Brandon's third goal of the season took Huddersfield Town into the Third Round of the FA Cup, after a tough test at St George's Lane.

The Terriers came up against a resilient Conference North side in struggling Worcester City, and despite playing the entire second half with 10 men after the harsh sending off of Danny Schofield for diving in the box, the Terriers quality was far too much for the non-league side.

The only goal of the game came on 62 minutes a sweet range strike from Brandon who was at the centre of everything good the visitors did. Worcester tried to break Town down in a strong display, but gave very little in attack. City could and should have scored after 2 minutes but Paul Rachbuka made the first of a series of good saves on a tough, heavy pitch.

This website has sent a good luck message to tomorrow's opponents Worcester City ahead of the FA Cup Second Round clash with the Terriers at St George's Lane. The site has posted the message on Worcester's official website message board.

We are delighted that the Terriers are visiting St George's Lane and helping to create some much needed revenue for a decent looking set-up

Worcester captain excited at biggest match since the 1950's!

He is certainly no stranger to the big time, but former Sheffield Wednesday player and current Worcester City captain says he is "excited" by the prospect of leading his team out against Huddersfield Town at St George's Lane on Sunday in full view of the BBC television cameras.

Everyone will be routing for a home victory, just as they would have been last night for Grays. Grays lost 3-0 at League Two Mansfield Town, and the Terriers supporters making the trip to Worcester will be hoping that the City dreams of the FA Cup third round, remain just that - a dream.

But with a quality management team in Andy Preece and Andy Morrison and some quality old heads in their side, Worcester will be more than contemplating a huge upset when the famous Huddersfield Town comes into town.

Worcester play in blue and white stripes, so Peter Jackson's side will be wearing the classy change strip of red and black stripes.

Worcester who is in the shadow of neighbours Hereford United revealed that they have had well wishes from around the match. The sell out match (their average attendance is just 800) between League Two highfliers Town and Worcester struggling in Conference North will be beamed across the world, as the world's favourite domestic cup competition hopes to produce yet another David and Goliath style upset.

It's the biggest match at St George's Lane since the 1959 visit of Liverpool in the FA Cup. Over 15,000 saw Worcester defeat the Reds that day 2-1, and with City banking around £150,000 from TV revenue, advertising and extra gate receipts, the hopes of City will be on a replication of that scoreline

Former defender moves to manager Shamrock Rovers

After the former giants Shamrock Rovers suffered relegation, the Hoops have replaced their manager with former Town defender Pat Scully.

Scully who was a defender during the Neil Warnock management days is seen by Rovers chairman Jonathon Roche as the "ideal man" to restore Shamrock Rover's top flight status next season.

Scully who joins Shamrock from Kilkenny City where he built a successful side, leaving the Kilkenny supporters disappointed that Scully has moved to struggling Shamrock.

Scully has one Republic of Ireland cap and left Town to go back home when he joined Shelbourne in 1996. He also played for Shamrock in 2001 and Scully was a much-liked captain during his time with Shelbourne. He has also been linked with a move to Waterford earlier this year.
