A fabulous new website has come to the attention of thisisthebarmyarmy.

Edited by Dave Instone formerly the 'Longfellow' of the local Wolverhampton paper the site is titled "Wolvesheroes" and well worth a visit from us Town fans.

Currently the picture of the week shows former Town goalkeeper John Oldfield closely guarded by number 3 Derrick Parkin. Though a left back throughout his Wolves career which saw him appear a club record 609 times it was as a right back he made his name for Town before a £80,000 record transfer fee took him to the Midlands.

There another former Town great, Bill McGarry the Wanderers boss converted him to a left back. Today it is rather apt to remember Wolves for the last time Town got any where near a Cup Final was back in 1967-68 when beaten in a two legged FL Cup semi final by Arsenal - see the main latest news article for more.

On the way we beat the Wolves 1-0 just like we did way back in 1961 in a 3rd Round FA Cup replay, when the then holders came to Leeds Road, lit up for the very first time by the "Denis Law" lights.

How brightly they shone as we triumphed 2-1!

Lets hope for a further cup victory tonight over our near neighbours and friends from Sheffield the Blades as we particularly welcome back their Manager Kevin Blackwell and of course Jon Stead.

For the time been we reminisce over past glories as our memories are strengthened ever more when taking a look at www.wolvesheroes.com
