Town fans recreate 'Cowshed'

After a highly successful 'experiment' implemented at last night's 0-0 draw with Yeovil Town the club really must be considering opening the doors of The Pink Link South Stand to Town fans on a more regular basis when health and safety and away support allow.

Despite a freezing Yorkshire night, 600 Terriers backed the blue and whites from behind the goal with terrific noise throughout the 90 minutes creating a Cowshed style noise, which could only have spurred the players and management team on.

After weeks of consultation between the club, various agencies and the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association, no-one was let down, as despite a frustrating goalless draw against Yeovil (who credit to them brought over 100 supporters the long distance north) the backing was a pure credit to each and everyone of those 600 suporters.

At one point "Blue Army" seemed to go on for 20 minutes at the start of the second half (click here to view a You Tube of the chant) and the rendition of "Smile A While" was pure classic.

Lets hope the club use this "experiment" to go back to the agencies involved and get Town fans behind the goal more.

The manager asked for the supporters to back the players - they did just that!

Commenting on the official Town website the popular Business Development Director Sean Jarvis who worked closely on the "Get behind the Team - get behind the goal" experience has said the club is "now reviewing its success and see how we can take it forward from here".

The noise generated form the supporters in the Pink Link Stand was loud and passionate the first time Terriers have been in the 'away end' in five years.

In an attempt to try and recreate the often special atmosphere of Leeds Road and that of the Cowshed a supporter has created a message board to promote this and if you are on Facebook a Facebook group.

Keep your backing Town fans, as the noise you created last night was fantastic and a real credit to Huddersfield Town ... if no-one else appreciated it, the true fans at last night's match certainly will have done, and one Mr Dean Hoyle will have been delighted at the noise coming from the Cowshed Boys in the South Stand.

"We all live in a Blue and White Cowshed,
A blue and white cowshed,
A blue and white cowshed,
We all live in a blue and white Cowshed,
A blue and white cowshed,
A blue and white cowshed"

"Rule the Terriers the Cowshed boys are we. We shall cheer our team to victory" - from the 1983 Supporters Song.

In other news, there is a West Yorkshire derby for the Town reserves this afternoon at the Welfare Ground, as Bradford City make the short journey down the M606 aiming to be the first team this season to take points from Mick Docherty's second string.

The match at AFC Emley's ground kicks-off (weather permitting!) at 14:00.

Update: Town won this match 3-1 thanks to an hat trick from Luke Beckett - for more click "More News Click here" - and learn why you need your scarf on Saturday for the visit of Crewe, as the Terriers turn the Galpharm into "Grace-Pharm".

All the while upon the field of play,
Thousands gladly cheered them on their way,
Often you could hear them say,
Who can beat the Town today?

Then the bells shall ring so merrily,
Every goal shall be a memory,
So Town play up and bring the cup,
Back to Huddersfield
