2011/2012 Pre-Season Match Schedule
|
|
Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark has arranged six Pre-Season friendly matches as he prepares his side for yet another assault at League One promotion in May 2012. As the schedule sits, Town will commence the Pre-Season fixtures on Saturday July 9th and conclude on Saturday July 30th. All matches arranged are currently away from home and will feature matches in the North East, South Yorkshire, Scotland and Wales. The Terriers usually play a 'plum' home tie so it's likely that there will be more fixtures to follow. Clark is planning for two matches in Scotland during the full squad's five-day training camp north of the border. Ticket information relating to the pre-season matches will follow in due course. 2011/2012 nPower League One fixtures are released on June 17th, with the season kick-off on Saturday August 6th. Lee Clark's playing staff will return to the Galpharm Stadium for pre-season training on July 1st as the club looks to prepare for another League One promotion push and put behind them the disappointment of the previous two seasons Play-Off defeats. It is not about the number of players Clark brings in over the summer period it is about bringing in the right players for the right money who will do a job for Town. These acquisitions must simply be right for our club at this time, and give Clark great options to push the Terriers towards the upper echelons of the league next season. As well as incoming players, there will be some leaving the club either because they don't feature in the plans of Clark or players that want to be play at a higher level. The Terriers will be looking to kick-on from the successes of the last seasons and build upon the foundations laid to ensure that the disappointment of failing in the Play-Offs is remembered for the right reasons to ensure promotion in May 2012. Last season Town ended the regular season 25 matches unbeaten, recording a record points total and a record number of away wins (13), with the record number of consecutive away wins (6) from a English domestic high of 61 matches!
